Not to say this was a bad book by any means, but similar to the last book, it definitely feels like this could be considered a great book if it hadn’t been a random Animorphs plot. I think at this point it’s a bit silly for them to have not thought up a game plan for when one of them especially Jake is out of town; no one really knew what to do.

I can’t imagine how K. This whole book Rachel was just portrayed as awful. That scene was retarded to me. He lost the next election to a guy who promised to end the war. Elise Smith, who also hasn’t written any of these books before.

I do like Marco telling her that she got them into that mess, so she has to get them out of it. The book opens with Jake already absent and the Animorphs attempting to assassinate Visser Three using cheetah morphs.
It pained me when he talked like that. And what’s the weaknes with running in human form? Rachel is all impulse and anger and touchy and insecure and refuses to listen to any kind of reason then tries to quit with an Animorph captured. It was the Ifi one. With less than an hour to save Cassie, Rachel comes up with a plan to get them into the Yeerk pool. I’m sorry but fuuuuck youuuu for reducing Rachel to that because she is so much more than that I can’t even begin to describe it.
It is too good of an opportunity to pass up — animirphs campaign of Visser Three — but they need a leader. Is it just to drop in a mention of convergent evolution? They trash a TV station, literally steal an airplane from a military base, and nothing bad comes of it. The squabbling between Rachel, Marco and even Tobias is forced.
Along the way there have been a few stinker additions to this series, some stupid ideas that grate my adult self.

Oddly, the rest of the team’s characterisations were pretty accurate, but that just left me astonished at the fact that they went along with this plan especially using untried polar bear morphs in extended battle, without morph variety.
